Our friends form Hamm visit Bingley over the Easter weekend.
Every year we run an exchange programme with Hamm football club from Germany. This is a fantastic opportunity for players from our under 12s and under 14s age groups. They get to play football in Germany, host a German player and stay with a local family when they go to Germany.
This programme has been running for around 30 years and is a positive legacy of the tragic fire at Valley Parade in 1985. The players from Hamm Sporting Club come to Bingley every Easter and participate in a memorial football tournament held at the Marley sports ground. This tournament also includes teams from both Bradford City and Lincoln City, who were the opposition at Valley Parade on the day of the fire. Bingley Juniors act as host to our German visitors for four nights and work hard to put together a programme of events to ensure they always have an enjoyable visit.
The players from Bingley Juniors travel to Germany to participate in an international tournament organised by Hamm Sporting Club held on the German Whitsun Bank Holiday weekend. The players stay with local families, they are well looked after and usually even get to spend a day at School!
Why not come down to Marley on Saturday 20th April to support our Under 12's or Sunday 21st to support our Under 14's
We also have a Race Night organised at Bradford & Bingley on Easter Sunday. All players and parents are welcome to come along.
